Ekaterina Kornishina was born in Moscow and started studying music at the age of 4. When she was a child, she came to the main stage of the Bolshoi Theatre as a part of the children choir. In 2003 Kornishina entered the Central Music School, the flute class under professor Yuri Dolzhikov. In 2018 Ekaterina graduated from the Moscow State Conservatory, the class of professor Alexander Golyshev and entered the Reina Sofia Academy in Madrid, the class of Jacques Zoon.
Furthermore, the young flutist got valuable experience when she won the “New Names” foundation scholarship at the age of 13. When she turned 18, she got invitation from Vladimir Spivakov to become a soloist of the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia. It was also Spivakov who granted Ekaterina with a new instrument.
Since the age of 11 Kornishina has regularly performed in Russia, France, Norway, Germany, Israel, Austria, Italy, Greece and other countries. She has taken master classes of renowned flutists such as Felix Renggli, Francois Laurent, Vicens Prat, Vincent Luca, Shigenori Kudo. She was invited to share the stage with famous soloists and conductors including Denis Matsuev, Vladimir Spivakov, Alexander Sladkovsky, Christian Schultz and Arkady Shilkloper.
The repertoire of the young flutist is extremely diverse and embraces not only classical compositions but also jazz and contemporary academic music. She performs pieces by Bach and Stamitz, Verdi and Reinecke, Messiaen and Hindemith.
