From 14 to 27 July the musicians will give a series of concerts at the Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival in Eastern Finland. The concerts will take place at the Kuhmo Arts Centre, in Kuhmo’s wooden church and in the Tuupala Primary School.

Nikita Boriso-Glebsky (violin) will perform compositions by Graun, Pärt, Beethoven, Bartók, Brahms, Debussy, Mozart and Prokofiev. Alexander Buzlov (cello) will present the program of compositions by Pärt, Sollima, Marcello, Boccherini, Beethoven, Schumann, Prokofiev and Bach. Alissa Margulis (violin) will play the compositions by Pärt, Clérambault, Beethoven, Strauss II, Kreisler and Mozart.

Each year the festival concept is based on an definite theme. In this way the Kuhmo Chamber Music 2019 is devoted to nostalgia. The festival repertoire embraces brilliant musical items that have become familiar in the past few decades as well as repeats of outstanding first performances heard in Kuhmo.

Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival is Finland’s oldest and biggest chamber music event. It has grown to one of the world’s prominent music festivals for last 50 years. The Financial Times described festival as “a remarkable event, where unfettered creative idealism reigns”. The Austrian music magazine Festspiele has rated Kuhmo as one of the world’s leading festivals.
