Nikita Boriso-Glebsky joined The Eugène Ysaÿe Tribute Project. He recorded the Violin Сoncerto in D, 1st mov. with the Liège Royal Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Jean-Jacques Kantorow.
The Eugène Ysaÿe Tribute Project includes a series of recordings, an international tour accompanied by an ambitious exhibition, a new biography revealing some of recently discovered facts, a documentary, and the development of musicological seminars. The recording project is the central point of the Tribute to Ysaÿe as it creates bridges to all the other aspects (exhibition, book project & PhD research). Moreover, it will turn the spotlight on the orchestral and chamber works by Ysaÿe as well as music by his friends and contemporaries. The structure of the five CD box set allows to keep a balance between celebrated and unpublished works and offers to the listener the large musical image of Ysaÿe and his cenacle.
Eugène Ysaÿe (1858–1931) was one of the greatest musicians of his time. He was regarded in his day as “The King of the Violin.” A legendary performer, he was also a composer, a conductor and a teacher.
