On March 9th Georgy Tchaidze and Nadezhda Pisareva will perform on the stage of the Konzerthaus Berlin within the “Evenings on the roof” concert series. The program includes the Sonata for two pianos by Igor Stravinsky and compositions of John Cage and Béla Bartók. The evening will be presented by Wladimir Kaminer, German writer born in Russia.

“Evenings on the roof” is organized in a memory of those concerts, that were held in the USA by composers and musicians, such as Igor Stravinsky, who had run from Europe because of war and fascist dictatorship. Initially, these concerts were really held on the rooftops in a chamberlike setting. The organizers of Berlin “evenings” have renewed this tradition, keeping the atmosphere of openness and closeness to the academic music.
